Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with our customer and support them with executing their business plan and initiatives.
• Facilitate purchasing decisions to ensure a 100% on-time delivery rate of the best quality products at a competitive cost.
• Monitor and maintain contract fulfillment on a weekly basis.
• Work with our customer and vendors to create special buying opportunities, which will generate additional sales and profits at the retail level.
• Work on continuous quality improvement while visiting suppliers and growers in the field.
• Responsible for coordinating several Quality Control team members in different growing areas.

Qualifications:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must possess strong analytical skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Deal strongly but fairly with high integrity in all transactions.
• Always represent our company and customer professionally.
• Fresh produce procurement experience.
• In-depth knowledge of produce commodities, market pricing, quality standards, vendor management, and PACA regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Work Location: Preferred: McAllen, TX or Houston, TX. This position is also eligible to be based in California or Arizona.
